Description
Deliciously crispy BBQ tofu bites, perfect for a snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and drained
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite, check for vegan/gluten-free if needed)
Instructions
- Press tofu for at least 20 minutes to remove excess moisture. Pat dry, then cut into 1-inch cubes or slabs, as preferred.
- In a large bowl, toss tofu cubes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt until fully coated.
- Arrange tofu in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Brush or toss baked tofu pieces generously with BBQ sauce. Return tofu to oven and bake another 10 minutes (at 400°F/200°C), until the sauce is sticky and caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve hot, garnished with extra BBQ sauce if desired.
Notes
- Make sure to use extra-firm tofu for best results.
- Can substitute BBQ sauce with your favorite marinade.
