Description

A delicious and creamy chicken and green bean casserole topped with fried onions and cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 ounces Frozen Green Beans
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 8 ounces Sliced Mushrooms
  • 1/2 Onion (finely diced)
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup (10 ounces each)
  • 2 cups Cooked Chicken (shredded)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 cups French Fried Onions (divided)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Cook the frozen green beans based on the package instructions. Drain off the excess water and set aside.
  3. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add in the onions and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for a few minutes until the onions and mushrooms are soft.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soups, milk and seasonings until well combined. Then stir in the mushroom and onion mixture, chicken, green beans, 1 cup of the cheese and 1 cup of the French fried onions.
  5. Spread this mixture into a 9X13 baking pan. Bake for 15-18 minutes until the casserole is bubbling in the middle.
  6. Top with the remaining French fried onions and cheddar cheese. Place back in the middle and cook for 5 more minutes until the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from the oven. Let the casserole sit for 5 minutes and then it’s ready to serve and enjoy!
